The Transatlantic Tightrope: 2025 Tax & Estate Planning Across Borders

Highlights

Get ahead of the curve with our upcoming pre-event webinar for the 4th Annual Transatlantic Tax & Estate Planning Forum. This session will provide a timely overview of the most pressing issues facing US/UK cross-border advisers today, including the impact of the abolished non-dom regime, key considerations in US-UK tax treaty planning, evolving trust and estate structuring trends, and the intersection of tax, immigration, and compliance for globally mobile clients. We’ll also touch on philanthropic giving, gifting strategies, and investment planning in the lead-up to a pivotal political year on both sides of the Atlantic. Ideal for legal, tax, and wealth professionals advising international families, this webinar sets the stage for the in-depth discussions to come in September.

Key Topics:

1. The impact of the UK’s non-dom reform 12 months on

2. Cross-border tax and treaty dynamics under US political shifts

3. Immigration, residence, and trust restructuring issues

4. Evolving gifting and philanthropy strategies in a transatlantic context

Alexis Hille
Counsel
Farrer & Co

Alexis specialises in providing advice to UK and international individuals, family offices and trustees on wealth structuring, estate planning and complex inheritance tax, income tax and capital gains tax planning.

Alexis understands the complications that almost inevitably arise when wealth crosses borders, particularly in the current political landscape of increasing transparency. Although Alexis enjoys navigating the nitty-gritty aspects of tax and succession law, she appreciates that many clients do not. Therefore she considers it a crucial part of her job to distil these complicated areas of law into straightforward, pragmatic advice.

Alexis recognises that clients with international wealth often require a collaborative team of professionals in multiple jurisdictions. Alexis has built up significant experience in acting for high net worth individuals and families, often alongside other advisers with whom she has developed strong working relationships. She understands the importance of managing the lines of communication between advisers to ensure that it is constructive and solution-focused.

Alexis works closely with colleagues from other areas of the firm, such as family or IP, when her clients need broader advice.
