Sean McGuiness is an Investment Manager based in Omni Bridgeway’s London office where he is responsible for originating cases, due diligence, the management of funded cases in EMEA and advancing the company’s judgment enforcement initiatives.

Prior to joining Omni Bridgeway in 2023, Sean was Head of Commercial Litigation and Arbitration at a leading London-based funder. Sean has funded claims and portfolios arising from large scale insolvencies, offshore litigation and recovery portfolios, general commercial litigation and shareholder claims under the FSMA regime. 
Before joining the funding industry, Sean worked in the London office of DLA Piper for ten years, with a broad practice advising on complex cross-border litigation, international arbitration, fraud, shareholder disputes and enforcement. Sean has particular expertise in the financial services, energy and infrastructure and natural resources sectors, and broad expertise across the globe with particular experience in offshore jurisdictions, Europe and Africa. 

Sean is a solicitor of the Supreme Court of England & Wales (2013) and an Attorney at Law in Texas (2019). Sean holds an LLB in Law from the London School of Economics.

Since co-founding Greyhawk in 2012, Edward has been the lead investigator in over 100 cross-border disputes and enforcement actions in the context of investor-state arbitration, civil fraud, contentious insolvency and commercial litigation.

Recent cases include acting for a state to identify over $500m stolen by a corrupt official; identifying enforcement options for an investor with an ICSID award against a sovereign; acting for creditors pursuing the personal assets of directors following a $200m banking fraud; and acting for a state oil company in the successful enforcement of an arbitral award against an energy group in the CIS. The majority of his work is international and often involves an offshore element

Chris is a partner in our Litigation, Insolvency and Restructuring team in the BVI. He has experience in all the types of disputes work that frequently arises in the BVI including fraud and bribery claims, disputes relating to the ownership and management of companies, minority shareholder claims, and insolvency and restructuring cases.

Chris has a particular specialism for fraud and asset recovery cases. The majority of his work entails applying for and opposing applications for interim relief, particularly injunctive relief and third-party disclosure orders. He also advises on insolvency cases, often where insolvency practitioners seek to bring actions to recover assets that have been misappropriated by former management. In addition, Chris has advised on a number of restructurings, including one of the first instances in the BVI involving the appointment of “light touch” provisional liquidators.
