Naming & Renaming a Child: A Comparison between England, France, Italy & the USA

Highlights

Comparing the approaches of these four countries:

  • When child’s name is registered by one or both parents at birth
  • When there is a subsequent change of name if a parent wishes to change the child’s name from the one recorded on the birth certificate
  • When cross-border issues arise following, or in the event of, a child’s name change

The webinar will consider the process in each jurisdiction, how easy it is to do, and what the hurdles or pitfalls may be.

It will only be looked at from a private law angle, not adoption.
