Penny has considerable experience in all pension matters, with a particular focus on advising trustees and companies (including overseas groups) on their UK pension arrangements, including governance, compliance and risk management. Penny also has extensive experience of advising charities on their pension arrangements and high net worth individuals on their pension tax and their family pension arrangements, including on small self-administered pension schemes. 

Mandy practises in matters concerning financial remedy for married and co-habiting couples. She has a particular interest in cases involving third party property interests and trust structures. Ranked in both legal directories over many years, Mandy also has strong international experience, acting on cases with assets throughout Europe, the Gulf region, Asia and the USA.

George Mathieson founded Mathieson Consulting Ltd (MCL) in 2007, as a company specialising in the provision of expert witness reports in the field of pensions and divorce and has personally written c. 3,500 such reports. He was a founder of the Pension Advisory Group, which was a multi-disciplinary body of lawyers, judges, actuaries, financial advisers, and academics, which produced the seminal work on how pensions should be dealt with within divorce proceedings and has now been adopted by Courts across England and Wales as “best practice.”

His current role is as a Consultant for MCL, and Divisional Director for MCL’s parent company, RBC Brewin Dolphin, where his responsibilities include being actively involved with lawyers advising them how a divorce settlement (pertaining to pensions) may be best constructed to the benefit of their client.
