Highlights

Join us for a complete and concise overview of the current art market and where it is placed after 12 months of upheaval. Our speakers will discuss how the market will respond as the world opens up again and the challenges that may arise.

Areas of discussion include:

  • What did the art market learn from the lockdown? How is 2021 looking?
  • Brexit - how has it affected the European art market? Practical tips for advisers in navigating the new landscape.
  • Sellers with fiduciary obligations: how has the calculus changed about holding versus selling (in terms of achieving fiduciary objective of maximizing value)?

....and many more

Megan Noh
Partner and Co-Chair, Art Law
Pryor Cashman

Megan Noh co-chairs Pryor Cashman's Art Law Group. Her clients include individual collectors, artists, galleries, auction houses, non-profits, estates and fiduciaries.

Megan’s transactional practice is extensive, and draws upon a 360-degree perspective, including her tenure as in-house counsel to an international auction house (which has directly informed her negotiation of marquee auction consignments since returning to private practice and representation of private collectors as consignors). Megan brings a similarly well-rounded approach to her negotiation of museum exhibition loan agreements, private sale and gallery consignment agreements, appraisal and advisory engagement agreements, credit facilities using art as collateral, and other art market transactions.

As part of her contentious matters practice, Megan counsels industry stakeholders about their statutory and contractual enforcement rights, including advising collectors and artists on rights of first refusal, non-circumvention and confidentiality breaches, and unauthorized image uses. Megan also litigates copyright and artists’ rights issues, including having recently obtained judgment in favor of an artist in relation to a digital image that prejudicially distorted the artist’s work.
