Highlights
Avoiding & Resolving Private Wealth Disputes – a multi-disciplinary panel of private client advisers provide their perspectives on how disputes can be avoided and resolved in innovative and holistic ways.
There has been a steady rise in private wealth disputes over the last 10 years, with countless acrimonious contentious trust and probate cases hitting the headlines. The more sophisticated families are becoming increasingly aware of the need to approach the issue of inter-generational wealth transfer differently and to take action before it is too late. Legal and financial advice alone is often not enough. Increasingly, individuals are recognising the need to plan their personal affairs by drawing on the expertise of various professionals, whether to avoid disputes or to resolve them early before they escalate into litigation.
This session will explore:
- Recent trends in the resolution of contentious trusts and probate disputes.
- How families can use sound wealth management advice and family governance for a smooth transition of wealth to the next generation.
- How families can avoid and resolve disputes by considering lifetime family conflict coaching and mediation.
- The importance of the role of therapy in family conflict
