Sue Nickason is a VP with Dart Family Office.  Sue serves as a director of the Cayman Islands Family Office Association and as an alternate on the board of Cayman Finance.  Additionally, she is a member of Private Client Global Elite. Sue earned a BA from Mount Allison University and a MBA from the University of Guelph.

Russell has over twenty years of experience in advising clients how to navigate the complexities of private wealth. He has a personable and collaborative style, and is known for advice that is practical and pragmatic.

Russell works with individuals and families, trustees and family offices, often in an international context. 

Russell advises clients on how best to structure their wealth, including wealth preservation, tax and succession planning. He has a particular expertise with regard to tax planning for non-domiciled individuals and non-UK trusts.

He also provides guidance on family governance issues, including how a family can structure its wealth in a way that is consistent with its values, and so as to preserve its reputation.

Russell is head of international strategy at Farrer & Co and is also responsible for Farrers Immigration team. The team has particular expertise in advising entrepreneurs, investors and executives and it frequently advises individuals and families on matters involving political sensitivity.

Russell qualified as a solicitor in 2000. He is listed in the top rank in several directories, and has won several awards.

Bernadette is the head of our Cayman Islands trusts and private wealth team and has a broad private client practice advising on wealth structuring and estate planning matters including the creation of dynastic structures; the administration, restructuring, and termination of trusts; and probate and testamentary issues. She is also an experienced litigator in the private client space, regularly appearing before the Grand Court of the Cayman Islands on multi-party non-contentious applications and contentious trust disputes, as well as in respect of estate litigation and other cross-border private client disputes.

Bernadette regularly advises high net worth individuals, trustees, beneficiaries, family offices, executors, wealth managers, institutional clients, and onshore legal teams on all aspects of trusts and estates law in the Cayman Islands.

Bernadette is an elected member of the International Academy of Estate and Trust Law (TIAETL), where membership to the global body is by invitation only. She is also an International Fellow of the American College of Trusts and Estates Counsel (ACTEC), and a long-standing Council Member of the Cayman Islands branch of the Society of Trusts and Estates Practitioners (STEP). She is a director of the Cayman Islands Family Office Association, launched in 2022. Bernadette is the author of the Cayman Islands chapters of numerous private client text books, including "International Estate Planning: A Reference Guide" and "Trusts in Prime Jurisdictions". Bernadette was listed as a Global Elite Thought Leader in Who's Who Legal for Private Client. She is also ranked by both Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners High Net Worth, and features in the 2024 Private Client Global Elite Directory.

Frederick is a partner at London private client law firm Payne Hicks Beach. He advises a broad range of UK and international clients on personal tax and trust issues. His practice is focused on advising entrepreneurial, business families on long term structuring and succession planning (often through the use of trusts). A number of Frederick’s clients are UK resident non-domiciliaries, who he advises on UK tax, residence and asset structuring (including ‘pre-arrival planning’). Frederick’s offshore work has a particular focus on Scandinavia but he also advises clients from a number of other jurisdictions most notably those with a US connection. Consequently Frederick is used to working with advisors in multiple jurisdictions to coordinate consolidated advice for clients with international connections.

He has extensive experience advising on the set up, review and transformation, and institutionalisation/professionalisation of single family offices, philanthropic foundations and wider organisational structures as well as advising families on areas such as generational transitions, asset segregation, and creating sophisticated asset management entities/structures spanning multiple jurisdictions and co-investment structures. His clients are internationally mobile families with multi-jurisdictional affairs from all areas of the globe, as well as high profile UK domestic families.

David has over 20 years experience in partnering with families with complex affairs, advising on the interaction between the family, their businesses and their wealth to ensure effective operation and governance of their entire organisational structure. He is a regular speaker at international conferences on the sustainability of family wealth across generations as well as the development and evolution of the family office industry.
