With over 15 years of experience in dispute resolution, Roger is responsible for managing LCM’s offering throughout Asia where he established LCM’s first office outside of Australia in Singapore in 2018. His extensive expertise in conducting international arbitration under the SIAC, LCIA, ICC and UNCITRAL rules, his involvement in commercial and cross-border litigation, as well as his experience in the insolvency sector enable him to originate, assess and manage the full range of funded disputes projects.

Roger has specialised in dispute finance since joining LCM in 2018. He has rapidly developed expertise and garnered market recognition with respect to identifying and assessing prospective funding opportunities ahead of devising and structuring user-friendly dispute finance arrangements. Roger deploys the depth of his experience and detailed knowledge of the law and international commercial dispute processes in working closely with LCM’s clients and their legal teams to navigate the efficient progress of funded claims to a positive outcome.

Prior to joining LCM, Roger spent over 10 years in private practice working for the international law firm Berwin Leighton Paisner (now Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner) in London, Singapore and Hong Kong, where he conducted a broad range of high value, complex, cross-border disputes with a particular focus on the construction, energy, natural resources, financial and technology sectors.

Tom joined Omni Bridgeway in 2017 and built the largest and most respected legal risk finance and management team in the Asian region, before assuming APAC regional leadership.  His team is applauded by clients and recognised and awarded by industry participants and commentators.

Before joining Omni Bridgeway, Tom was a senior member of Allen & Overy’s international arbitration and disputes practice in Asia, where he handled complex multi-jurisdictional matters for global businesses across numerous sectors, including financial services, automotive, energy, industrial manufacturing and construction. Prior to this, Tom worked with leading New Zealand law firm, Russell McVeagh, where he represented local and multi-national clients in high-end commercial matters before the High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court of New Zealand.  

Tom holds dual degrees in Law and International Relations, and is a qualified lawyer in New Zealand and Hong Kong. He is a frequent guest speaker and panellist throughout Asia on the topics of dispute funding, litigation and arbitration. Tom was a member of the Working Group that established and launched the Indian Association of Litigation Funders (IALF) in 2021. Ed is a qualified solicitor with over a decade of experience working at leading law firms and renowned litigation boutiques.

In 2017, Ed left private practice to join Augusta Ventures, one of the UK’s largest litigation funders, where he headed up the consumer litigation funding team. In that role Ed was responsible for creating innovative and bespoke funding structures in the UK, Germany and Spain.

At Litica, Ed leads our specialist scheme underwriting team, providing ATE solutions for volume claim opportunities across Europe.

Quentin Pak is a Director with responsibility for leading Burford’s office in Singapore and for expanding Burford’s resources to support clients in Asia. Mr. Pak works with corporations, law firms and insolvency practitioners in providing legal risk management and financing solutions, both in relation to Asia-based legal proceedings and for companies in the region involved in disputes in other jurisdictions.

Prior to joining Burford, Mr. Pak was most recently the head of the Asia commodities business at Commonwealth Bank of Australia. His previous experience includes senior positions at major global financial institutions such as Goldman Sachs, Barclays and Deutsche Bank. Before going into banking, Mr. Pak practiced law with Allen & Overy in London and Singapore.

Mr. Pak earned degrees in law and aeronautical engineering from the University of Bristol.

Alain Grec is a director and co-founder of Profile Investment and heads our quantum analysis division. Prior to founding Profile Investment in 2018 with Iain McKenny, Alain founded La Française International Claims Collection from 2009 to 2018, a third party funder with a core specialism in International arbitration and enforcement of investment treaty awards. Alain has held various positions within the banking group Natixis from which his deep knowledge of company financial analysis, middle term risk assessment and commercial transactions allowed him to hone his specialism in quantum analysis for disputes. Alain was Head of the German branch of Natixis (1994-2002), as well as Head of Development of its Corporate and Investment Financing bank between 2005 and 2009.

Since 2000, Alain is a “French Foreign Trade Advisor” (Conseiller du Commerce Extérieur), a French Government organization that was created to enable the French government to benefit direct feedback and advice from leading French managers all over the world for its economical development issues. He also lectures in various French university courses as they pertain to his specialisms in international arbitration, notably in Montpellier (D.U. Arbitrage) and Paris-Saclay (MACI M2) Universities, and is fellow of the DREx Talks (Dispute Resolution Experts Talks).

Alain is fluent in French, English and German.
