Andrew has an established commercial disputes practice, with a core of trial advocacy before courts and tribunals across the globe.
He has strong multi-jurisdictional connections, particularly in the Asia Pacific region, the Caribbean and within the wider offshore community.
He has been recommended in the legal directories in the following areas: commercial litigation, banking & finance, civil fraud, company & partnership and commercial chancery. Andrew also specialises in urgent injunctive relief, including freezing, search orders and the appointment of provisional liquidators.
Andrew appears before all courts and tribunals in England and Wales, including the courts and lists of the Business and Property Courts, including the Commercial and Admiralty Courts, Circuit Commercial Courts, the Technology and Construction Court, the Financial List, and the Company and Insolvency List, together with the balance of the Queen’s Bench Division, the Administrative Court and the higher Appellate Courts.
Andrew also appears as Counsel at international and domestic arbitrations (including LCIA, ICC, SIAC, DIAC, ICSID, under UNCITRAL rules and ad hoc).
Andrew takes appointments as arbitrator.
Andrew has a breadth of expertise across a range of sectors and services, including aviation, banking and finance, construction and engineering, energy and natural resources, fraud and asset tracing, international trade, joint ventures, professional liability and risk, structured products and derivatives and TMT.

Andrew Barns-Graham specialises in civil fraud litigation and asset recovery, banking and other commercial disputes, shareholder disputes, and contentious insolvency and trusts.
His related areas of expertise include freezing injunctions, financial disclosure applications and asset tracing, securities fraud, forgery and counterfeiting, breach of confidence, breach of fiduciary duty, the cross-border enforcement of judgments and non-performing loans, jurisdiction challenges, and conflicts of laws.
Andrew has been recognised by the legal directories as a “Rising Star” of civil fraud litigation since 2022. He has published numerous articles about the subject and is a regular speaker at events.
He has acted in several of the most complex and high-profile cross-border fraud cases of recent years, including three which appeared in The Lawyer’s annual ‘Top 20 cases’. He also has a wealth of experience acting on smaller matters across the spectrum of civil fraud and commercial litigation.
Andrew prides himself on being a team-player who goes the extra mile for his clients. As well as being a “top drawer” and “very knowledgeable” technical lawyer, he has the ability to see litigation from the perspectives of solicitors and clients, having spent several years of his career working in-house in top City litigation practices.

Karen is a commercial barrister with specialist experience in insolvency and company law. She is most often briefed in large international commercial litigation and arbitrations involving complex financial structures.
Karen holds a Master of Corporate Law (First Class) from the University of Cambridge, where she was awarded a Jennings Prize for first class performance in the final examinations. She holds a Bachelor of Law (First Class) and a Bachelor of Arts (Communication) from the University of Technology, Sydney.
Prior to coming to the bar, Karen was a solicitor at Allen & Overy LLP in London and New York.
Karen is admitted to practise in England and Wales, all Australian jurisdictions and is registered as a foreign lawyer of the SICC.
