Regardless of whether you previously read books on pandemics, were fully au fait with the Spanish flu of 1918, and/ or at least broadly knew that epidemics on a grand scale occur about once every 100 years, the Corona Virus has shocked the world in its speed of spread and truly terrible consequences.
