Sir Robin Knowles CBE commenced practice at the Bar in 1984, and was appointed a QC in 1999. His practice was in commercial, financial, company and insolvency law. He became the Chairman of the Commercial Bar Association of England & Wales and of Advocate (the Bar Pro Bono Unit) and the National Pro Bono Centre.

In 1998 he was appointed an Assistant Recorder, a Recorder in 2000 and a Deputy High Court Judge in 2007, sitting in the Crown Court, the Chancery Division and the Commercial Court. He is a qualified mediator and has sat as an arbitrator. He became a High Court Judge in 2014.Sir Robin is the Judge with day-to-day responsibility for the Standing International Forum of Commercial Courts, and is a board member of the Financial Markets Law Committee. He has served as Chairman of the International Committee of the Judicial College and as a member of the Civil Justice Council. Through the pandemic he chaired the cross-sector MR’s Working Group on possession proceedings. Within the HMCTS Reform Programme he chairs the Litigants in Person Engagement Group (LIPEG).

Tariq Khan is a seasoned disputes practitioner having over 10 years of experience. Mr. Vikram Pooserla has over 22 years of experience, practising as an advocate dealing with various civil, criminal & corporate litigation as well as domestic & international arbitration.

 

In his practice, Mr. Pooserla dealt extensively with matters concerning the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016 (IBC), SARFAESI Act, Banking law (including the RBI Circulars) etc. He advised several persons on challenge to various provisions of the IBC concerning personal guarantors to corporate debtors, and appeared in numerous petitions before the Supreme Court of India and the High Court of Telangana, wherein such provisions were highly contested. He also submitted a paper to the Parliamentary Committee on Sub-ordinate Legislation in regard to bringing into effect the provisions concerning the insolvency of personal guarantors to corporate debtors and their enforcement. 

 

Apart from litigation, Mr. Pooserla was involved in various corporate restructuring transactions including handling the First Cross Border Merger in India. He has varied experience in drafting complex corporate agreements and has advised various clients on several transactional work and structuring terms of resolution plans for corporate debtors admitted to the insolvency resolution process under the IBC. Mr. Pooserla and his team also handled various international arbitration proceedings conducted under the aegis of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) and the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA).
